This modern timber-structure duplex, designed for most rural homesteads in China, spans about 250 square meters. It features a Nordic-inspired facade made with durable cement fiber siding, dark gray aluminum window casings, and a metal roof. The south side of both units is set back to create a gray-space deck, comfortable in most regions of China.

Light wood frame structures are recognized internationally for their excellent physical properties and year-round comfort. Their high durability and reasonable cost make them a popular choice in North America.

The model house is located in Fengshang Village, Ningbo County, Zhejiang Province. Site visits are welcome.
The left unit features a double-height living room and an elder's bedroom on the first floor, plus a main bedroom and a small bedroom on the second floor. The right unit has a standard living room and an elder's bedroom on the first floor. The second floor has a leisure room and two en-suite bedrooms. Both units feature a combined living, dining, and kitchen space, allowing elderly residents to check on one another easily.

The weather-resistant exterior and high-standard insulation keep the building warm in winter and cool in summer. Equipped with underfloor heating, a fresh air system, air conditioning, and a water purification system, the house is designed to meet the demands of the health and wellness industry, rural homestead living, and remote vacation management.
Beneath the concise and modern exterior of this duplex residence lies the Chinese people's understanding of comfort. Both units adopt a recessed living room design on the first floor, perfectly creating a gray space between indoor and outdoor areas and forming a small balcony, which enhances living comfort and is suitable for use in the vast majority of regions in China.

The living room of the left unit features a double-height space. The first floor is equipped with an elderly room, and the second floor is configured with a master bedroom and a small bedroom.

The living room of the right unit does not have a double-height space. The first floor is equipped with an elderly room, and the second floor features two complete sets of bedrooms (including en-suite bathrooms) and a leisure living room, maximizing the utilization of internal space.
